Philosophy:

Attorney Brent T. Day founded our firm on the principle that providing quality legal service in a timely, cost-effective manner enhances our reputation and encourages clients to use us again.

Why Can't the Attorney Just Answer One Question for Me Over the Phone?

Today, we face an ever expanding legal arena making what may appear as a “simple” legal question very complex. When an attorney gives advice, it must be carefully tailored to the individual client. Even though one person's situation may seem just like that of another person, there may be many aspects of the law that could cause a different result. To answer without knowing the facts could cause both you and the attorney many significant problems.

How can I be certain you have my best legal interests at heart?

We realize that our prompt, effective and accurate representation will not only affect your future, but your view of the fairness of our legal system. Therefore, you have our assurance that we have your best legal interests at heart and will zealously represent you and protect your legal rights.

What does attorney-client confidence mean to me?

The ethics of the legal profession, our firm, and each of our attorneys require that all information and communications from you to your attorney or to our professional staff remain completely confidential.

How do you charge for your service?

Solon Law usually charges on either a contingent fee, fixed fee, or hourly rate basis. Depending upon the type of service required, our fees are based on the time we must work on the case and the legal complexity or difficulty involved.
Your attorney will discuss our fees at your initial conference. You will be told in advance how we will calculate the costs of the legal work we will do for you and we'll put it all in writing so there will be no misunderstandings.
If a contingent fee is appropriate, this means that a certain percentage of the amount collected is set aside for our fee. The percentage often will vary depending upon the length of involvement your case requires. However, you must pay court costs and out-of-pocket expenses as they occur. A fixed fee may be established based on the estimated time required and complexity of your case. Cases handled on an hourly rate are billed monthly. We provide you with a statement which itemizes all services rendered during the period.

Our standard policy requires a deposit before expenses are incurred unless a contingent fee arrangement is established.

How do I make an appointment and what are your office hours?

We will make appointments convenient with your schedule, whenever possible. There may be times when your attorney may not be available. He or she may be in court or preparing another client's case for settlement or trial. If your attorney is not available, another attorney in the firm will be happy to assist you.

Solon - lawmaker of Athens

Solon-The lawmaker of Athens

Solon (638 BC–558 BC) was an Athenian Statesman, Lawmaker, and Lyric poet. He is remembered particularly for his efforts to legislate against political, economic and moral decline in archaic Athens. His reforms failed in the short term yet he is often credited with having laid the foundations for Athenian democracy.
